NebraskaGrants are available to help purchase equipment to recycle asphalt shingles, such as trucks, loading equipment, or grinders. Shingles that are determined to be asbestos containing material may not be recycled. Contact the state or local officials to see what the regulatory interests are in a specific project. The Nebraska Department of Transportation currently permits use of recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) in their mixes with a greater amount permitted in the shoulders then the mainline.
