OhioSince October 2017 C&D Processing Facilities in Ohio, including those accepting asphalt shingles, have been required to register with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or local health department. The state has several resources available to recyclers including a resource guide and materials marketplace website. The Ohio Department of Transportation currently has specifications on use of recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) in asphalt mixes (section 401.04 of their specification manual), and allows up to 5% RAS by dry weight and no more than 3% when RAS and RAP are used in combination.
